Rusty Bolton, Elder
I am honored to serve the Tulare Church of Christ as an elder/shepherd. Basically that position has three aspects to it: (1) Administration: Along with the other elders/shepherds make decisions concerning the work and teachings of the church—that they are according to the Bible, (2) Shepherd: Personally serve as an encouraging shepherd to those in my shepherding group—to assist them in their walk with Christ, and (3) Example: An example of a mature Christian.
I grew up in a loving Christian home in the farming town of Dos Palos in the central San Joaquin Valley. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, I attended Abilene Christian University receiving a B.A. in education. Later I received my Master’s degree in Counseling from Fresno state. Upon completing he requirements from the State of California, I served as a Marriage and family along with ministerial responsibility.
I have served as a Minister and Missionary for over 50 years. In our early marriage we were “church planters” on Long Island, New York and Perth, and Western Australia. Then we moved to the Saint Louis, Missouri area and served as Minister for six years. Then, after eight years of as Minister at Fresno, California we moved to Visalia and served the Visalia Community Church of Christ first as Minister and then as elder. In 2011 I became the part-time Minister of the Tulare Church of Christ until retirement at the end of 2015.
I have been married to Martha for 60 years. We have three children, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
